How can I update my INFORAD radar alarm?
 You can update your INFORAD’s database anytime by connecting it to a computer with Internet access. Beforehand you should correctly install the USB drivers (only if you have Inforad V1), the INFORAD Manager software and register your INFORAD GPS radar alarm. To perform an update, you need to launch the INFORAD Manager software, then click on the “database” tab and then on “start the update.” During these operations, the INFORAD unit is powered electrically by your computer’s USB outlet.
These updates are free for life.
How often should I update my INFORAD to make sure I have the best possible protection?
 We recommend updating your INFORAD approximately every two weeks or each time you plan on travelling outside the area where you live. In this way you will be ensured that your INFORAD has the most recent map possible in its memory. As such your trip can take place under optimal safety conditions since your INFORAD alarm will signal where the dangerous and high-accident zones with automatic speed traps are located.


Can I record my own risk zones?
 Yes, an “Insert” button located on the INFORAD unit lets you record personal risk zones that you discover during your trips.
You can then use the configuration software to manage your list of personal points (up to 256 points). You can export your points to a file, import lists of points from the Internet (POI), delete some points, etc.

What should I do if I discover an unlisted risk zone?
 If your discover an unlisted risk zone during one of your trips, use the “Insert” button located on the top of the INFORAD alarm. This will store the precise position of this new point. During the update procedure, the software will ask you to qualify this point after locating it on the map. You can then choose among three options:

  • Personal point

  • Unlisted risk zone, controlled or not by an automatic radar

  • Location of a mobile speed trap

Our teams verify, authenticate and add the data in these last two cases (automatically transmitted during an update) to the INFORAD database, if applicable.
Thanks to your contribution, all users will then share this new data, making INFORAD even more effective.


There was no software update CD in my INFORAD’s package?
 To allow frequent updates of the software, we preferred a download solution. The INFORAD driver software is available for download free of charge from our website at www.inforad.net. A simple procedure then lets you install and configure the update software. It is then immediately ready to perform the registration procedure and the first update of your unit. Moreover, INFORAD, whose functionalities are software driven, can receive a new version of its internal software during an update and therefore new functions or an improvement in its existing functions.
What is the minimum configuration for my PC so I can update INFORAD via the Internet?
 The minimum required configuration is a PC with Internet access and Windows 98 Second Edition or a more recent version and Internet Explorer 5.0 or a more recent version.
Unfortunately our configuration software does not currently exist in a Mac OS version.
