FAQ
Most Frequent Questions:
Operating Problems
The green diode on my INFORAD blinks constantly; what can I do?
This means that your INFORAD can’t fix its position. There can be several reasons for this:
  1. Your heat-absorbing windscreen disturbs satellite reception.

  2. You are driving in a tunnel and therefore your Inforad can’t capture the satellite signals.

  3. You are driving in a zone where numerous obstacles (buildings, skyscrapers) disturb the reception of satellite signals.

To verify that your INFORAD is operating correctly, stop your vehicle in an open area, free of any obstacles that block the sky and place your INFORAD outside the vehicle, on the roof. In this position, the blinking should stop after 3 to 6 minutes at most, otherwise please contact our after-sales service.

Why are tinted and/or anti-UV windscreens a problem?
The material used to coat the glass hinders reception of the GPS signal and stops INFORAD from fixing its position. In the case of a heat-absorbing* windscreen a metal screen absorbs the GPS signal and also prevents INFORAD from acquiring its position. If you fall into this case, get a miniature external antenna as an option and place it on the dashboard as close to the windscreen as possible. This part of the heat-absorbing windscreen is, according to standards and regulations, exempt from any treatment and therefore perfectly transparent to waves from the GPS satellite network.
* However, if your vehicle’s heat-absorbing windscreen has a window initially provided so electronic tagging devices for motorway toll systems can function and the INFORAD unit’s top (INFORAD logo) can be positioned vis-à-vis this window without restriction, we recommend that you effect a trial first before ordering the miniature external antenna.

What happens if I lose my INFORAD unit or it is stolen?
An ANTITHEFT PROTECTION can deactivate an INFORAD declared stolen.
If your INFORAD is stolen, all you have to do is advise us of the theft and send us your INFORAD receiver’s unique number that appears on the main screen of the update and configuration utilities. Your subscription will be suspended and it won’t only become impossible to update your previous unit but, from the first attempt, the unit will be deactivated and the offender’s Internet address will be recorded.
As soon as you have acquired a new unit, your subscription will be transferred and the update software will automatically reintegrate your personal points in your new INFORAD’s memory.

My INFORAD won’t work, what should I do to obtain a standard exchange?
You should contact your reseller. In most cases the reseller, after having verified that the product has not suffered abnormal damage, will immediately give you a new unit, if it has sufficient stock.
If you run into problems with your reseller, you can contact us directly via the support email address:
support@inforad.net

How long is my INFORAD GPS radar alarm warranty?
INFORAD is warranted for a period of one year from the purchase date, by standard exchange, against any faults and manufacturing defects under conditions of normal use.
