How does a GPS radar alarm work?
The system knows your position and your exact speed continuously based on the information received from satellites in the GPS network. By using the database stored in its memory, it calculates the distance of the nearest risk zone. In this way, the alarm can provide, without a false warning, an alarm 20 seconds before reaching the precise location of the risk irrespective of your speed.
INFORAD lets you calmly adapt your driving by informing you increasingly far away as your speed increases.

What is a GPS?
The satellite global positioning system (GPS) is a world navigation system that transmits radio signals from 24 satellites orbiting around the earth. The GPS receivers, like INFORAD, use these satellite signals to define their position within a few metres or to calculate a vehicle’s precise speed. This extremely reliable technology is used throughout the world. Used primarily to guide airplanes, vehicles and ships, it can immediately locate ships in danger or mariners in distress.

How does INFORAD communicate this warning information?
INFORAD has been specially designed not to disturb your attention or driving. INFORAD is easy to install and use:
  1. Install INFORAD on your dashboard,

  2. Connect INFORAD to the 12 or 24-volt cigarette lighter outlet with the supplied adapter,

  3. Wait a few seconds until the green light stops blinking: INFORAD is working and protecting you!

  4. INFORAD’s warning light and sound alarm warn you immediately when you enter a risk zone.
(a button lets you temporarily turn off the sound).

Does INFORAD take into account the direction of vehicle traffic before triggering an alarm?
No for version V1; INFORAD is a prevention tool whose mission is to assist drivers approach all sorts of risk zones at an appropriate speed, whether they are controlled by automatic radar or not. A high-accident zone related to a particularly dangerous curve is unfortunately dangerous in both traffic directions. Nevertheless, Inforad V1.1 and V1 Modified have this option.

Is INFORAD also a speed controller?
This functionality is now available when an alarm is triggered near a risk zone and the vehicle’s speed exceeds the authorised speed limit. In this case, the sound alarm persists as long as the vehicle continues above this speed limit. INFORAD, whose functionalities are software driven, may change during an update.
